Overview

"Slow but economical"

Exterior and Interior

The interior was not too bad for a little cheap car. It had no CD player which I thought was daft and the plastics were a bit scratchy. The exterior had plastic wings for super cheap repairs and the doors didn't quite shut properly... so not so great

Performance and Economy

The performance was slow but steady. The 65bhp meant it wouldn't accelerate very quickly and 0-60 came up in 15 seconds. It did have plenty of torque for a little car which meant you didn't really have to do much changing down. And motorway travel made it feel like it had some grunt because it would still move at speed. Also hills were swallowed up. It has been the most economical car I have ever owned. I consistently managed to get 75+mpg out of it. Which was very gratifying on my 45 mile daily commute!

Like to Drive

It wasn't too great to drive. In the wet it felt unstable and in the dry it felt lacking in composure. This is of course expected in a cheap little diesel, and it did perform in the areas it was supposed to. <

Faults and Repairs

It suffered from small electrical faults which meant at times it lost power which was completely annoying. Otherwise it was pretty reliable, especially with how many miles I put on it. It eventually got written off so my love affair with the Clio was ended.
