Overview

"Renault Scenic - good solid family car, if a bit dull"

Exterior and Interior

Chose this particular model due to the really good quality interior. The display and the built in TomTom are great, the seat covers are smart, the whole thing feels comfortable and solid and has survived two children well. Outside it's a smart looking car, large so quite hard to park - we don't have any parking sensors - but you get used to it. Boot is large. Very child friendly - I like the pull-up sunshades on the back windows and the little mirror to view the kids is great.

Performance and Economy

Great fuel economy due to the diesel engine - regularly 55mpg on the motorway. Against that, small diesel engine means sluggish acceleration and a bit noisy, but that's a tradeoff we were happy to make.

Like to Drive

Unexciting but safe. Compared with our previous Clio, it's much better on the motorway - the 6th gear makes a big difference. The handbrake takes a bit of getting used to, it's electronic rather than manual which is weird to get used to, but fine after a while. <

Faults and Repairs

One annoying recurrent electrical error which was a pain to fix but seems to be ok now. Other than that, just routine maintenance.
