"Nifty and thrifty"

Exterior and Interior

Plastic panels are very durable but the steel shell can rust if the paint work's damaged. Interior isn't made from best plastics but is pretty stylish. Roomier than you'd think but with two large people on board could become a little intimate due to narrow width.

Performance and Economy

Always feels faster than it actually is and is zippy up to 40mph. Gets wheezy fully loaded after 60mph. Real world economy is as good as you'd expect from such a tiny engine and car costs peanuts to run.

Like to Drive

Understeer can be horrific but always controllable and the lack of power steering means feel is pretty good. Despite being known for poor dynamics, it's great fun to drive as it's so narrow. Can be affected by side winds on motorways and A roads. <

Faults and Repairs

Very reliable with only a couple of minor faults in 10years; has never left me at the roadside. Mercedes' charges are ridiculous and can be difficult to persuade independents to work on such an unusual car. Get friendly with a local garage and make use of the great online community.
