Overview

"Better Lines"

Exterior and Interior

The Vauxhall brand have definitely done away with the boxy shape of old. The Sports Tourer is sleek in its looks, and lives up to its 'Sports' moniker. The interior hasn't suffered too much from the sleeker body - although the boot has less space than some other estate cars.

Performance and Economy

You will never feel like you're tailing behind in the Sports Tourer. It has enough zest to be almost nippy in traffic - and can easily reach a cruising speed of 100mph. The cruise control works well, and diesel consumption is notably good on long distance. On short distance, it does still feel like the petrol gauge is dropping incredibly quickly. As a vague guideline, a trip from Cornwall to Manchester used a half tank of fuel at 70mph.

Like to Drive

Smooth. The vehicle comes with a couple of standard traction controls, and this is noticeable on the drive. The large front window gives excellent vision, though the 'over-shoulder' view gets interfered with by the central columns. I would also prefer a larger rear window. The seats are comfortable, and long drives do not feel as achy as I have experienced in other vehicles. <

Faults and Repairs

So far, in the 8 months of ownership we have experienced no faults, or needs for repair. The only issue we have had is an automated diesel filter cleaning process, which is triggered when the filter gets dirty.
