At first glance the Fiat 500 looks familiar, especially to those who remember the early fifties version of this car. The new Fiat 500 is a modern re-make of the original but it is a very different car, with a very different engine.
The Fiat 500 will be cheap to run and easy to drive around town. The electric canvas roof folds down to make it a convertible, and can be closed half way so it acts as a sunroof or completely to give the passengers full shelter from the elements. The Fiat 500 will cost over eleven thousand pounds and will come with the choice of three engines, one diesel version and two petrol variants.
All of the engines are punchy and efficient. If you plan on doing motorway driving then the 1.3-litre multi-jet diesel would be the best engine as it will cope with the longer distance motorway driving the best out of all the engines.
The Fiat 500 is an excellent choice for those who are looking for a ‘cool’ town car that is happy with short distance driving and occasional runs out on the motorway. The rear seats are a bit tight but the front seats are very comfortable. Air conditioning is a nice little extra that is standard on all trim levels.
