As most of you are probably aware, the Frankfurt Motor Show is just around the corner. The majority of car manufacturers have already started with their PR campaigns to draw as many people as possible to their stands at the show.
Alfa Romeo is no exception. The company has started the countdown to Frankfurt with a teaser image on their Facebook page, which looks good enough to send most car addicts scouring the internet for more information.
The picture appears to be that of Alfas upcoming 4C sports car and gives the biggest hint up to now that the company will showcase a production version of this car at the Frankfurt show.
The first camouflaged version of the 4C concept car appeared at the Geneva Motor Show in March and this was enough to send Alfa fans into a state of exhilaration.
The engine of the new model is mounted in the middle. The carbon fibre chassis was developed in partnership with racing specialists Dallara. Visitors to the Geneva show raved about its incredibly smooth lines and sporty shape.
The 4C is powered by a four-cylinder 1.75-litre turbo engine. Power output is in the region of 250 bhp. The car is a rear-wheel drive fitted with a 6-speed double-clutch gearbox.
Provisional performance figures are impressive: a top speed of 150 miles per hour and 0-60 acceleration in 4.5 seconds ± enough to send many hearts racing.
The 4C will start appearing on UK showroom floors in the middle of 2012 and will carry a price tag of around £40,000.
