Audi Gives A4 A Facelift

Quite recently we reported on the Audi A5, which has been given a facelift by the company. Now Audi has also decided to give the very popular A4 executive sedan a facelift. This includes modifying the cars appearance and giving it a brand new engine, a 2-litre TDI delivering 134bhp.

The new engine promises improved fuel consumption of 65.7 miles per gallon, and at 112g/km its emission levels are also significantly lower than that of its predecessor.

The new TDI engine is only a small part of the changes. Audi has also fitted the whole A4 engine range with energy recuperation and stop-start technology, thereby improving fuel economy by as much as 21%. This means even the 160bhp 2-litre engine now gives 64.2 miles per gallon and the V6 3-litre TDI engine, which produced 20bbhp, boasts 57.6 miles per gallon. This engine replaces the current 2.7-litre TDI.

The exterior of the car has undergone some significant changes, including sharper air intakes on both sides of the front bumper, LED headlamps which look similar to that of the A5 and A6, and a tapered grille, which is now housed in a single frame.

At the back the biggest changes are the twin exhausts with which all models are now fitted and the redesigned taillights, which fit in beautifully with the new headlights.
