Batman Unable to Fix his Own Flat Tyre

The first thing you usually learn after getting a car in the UK is how to fix a flat tyre. Somehow it's just not kosher to call in roadside assistance because you cant fix your own car's flat tyre.

Far away in the Philippines, there's a saying "Bahala na si Batman", which loosely translated means "Leave it to Batman".

An incident in Maryland earlier this week has cast serious doubt, however, over whether Batman will be able to help you if your car has a flat tyre. It seems, in fact, that the Caped Crusader is clueless when it comes to fixing a flat tyre

The undignified episode happened on Route 29 to the north of Washington D.C. a few days ago. Howard County Police Department received a 911 emergency call from a passing motorist who reported "There is a disabled motorist southbound on 29. He's in the left lane, he's in like a Lamborghini. He is dressed in a Batman costume and he is hanging out halfway in the roadway."

The officers didn't initially take the call very seriously, it was too close to Halloween for that. It was only when they arrived at the scene and they saw the man in his Batman costume frantically gesturing for help next to his shining new Lamborghini that they realised everything was real and it was their turn to help Batman himself.

Eventually the Lamborghini was towed away and a friend picked up Batman, but not before he posed for a picture with the kind policemen who came to his aid.
