Ford has announced that the company plans to reveal no less than five new models at the upcoming Frankfurt Motor Show.
The Blue Oval will have the biggest stand ever at Frankfurt - there will even be a 2,800m2 track. The focus will be dual: in the first place the company will display concept models to showcase its design thoughts for the future and secondly there will also be high performance versions of two of Ford's mainstream models.
What will no doubt attract the most attention is a concept car that will showcase Ford's plans for the family car of the future. Simply dubbed as 'Kinetic 2.0' by insiders, you won't be able to get this one until 2014, but it will no doubt be very interesting to get a peek into the future of Ford's family cars.
A company spokesperson said that the concept car was 'seventy to eighty percent confirmed for production'. By showcasing it now, Ford will still have time to incorporate customer feedback into the final design.
The production range will be headed by the Focus ST we saw last year at the Paris Motor Show. It does away with the 5-cylinder turbo, which has been replaced with a more efficient 2-litre direct injection engine.
It will be joined on the stand by the eagerly anticipated Fiesta ST. This car is expected to hit UK showroom floors by next year.
A production version of the B-Max will complete the line-up.
