Infiniti plans on expanding its partnership with the Red Bull Formula One Racing Team during next years season with more prominent branding on team equipment, driver overalls and cars.
The two partners will also increase their joint global media and marketing efforts over the course of the next 12 months.
Nissan Motor Company's executive vice president, Andy Palmer, spoke at the Korean Grand Prix recently.
He said that they initially entered into the partnership to boost Infiniti's global brand awareness, but that the results during the past seven months exceeded their wildest expectations, turning Infiniti into the most recognised Formula One brand in one season.
The partnership between Infiniti and Red Bull Racing will extend into technical collaboration. Infiniti is expected to eventually become the teams main manufacturer partner, replacing Renault.
Infiniti has no plans to break off relations with its existing brand ambassador, Sebastian Vettel, it seems. Instead the relationship with Vettel would continue and the company even plans new Vettel performance versions of its current range. A Vettel version of the popular FX model has already been confirmed.
Palmer said that, while it was great fun to develop the FX Sebastian Vettel car for the Frankfurt Motor Show, it was only a pilot project. He compared it to Mercedes AMG cars and BMW's M cars and said it proved that Infiniti could build low-volume high performance cars.
