Kia bosses are celebrating after UK dealers voted its low-emission super-mini Rio their most popular car of the year. The latest version of the model, which went on sale last September, won its accolade at Car Dealer Magazine's annual awards ceremony in Portsmouth. The manufacturer's managing director Michael Cole said winning the Car Dealer Power Car of the Year award was a great honour as it meant the Rio had won votes from dealers and magazine readers. He said: "We have sold almost 8,000 Rios since the latest model's release last autumn and with the recognition of this award I'm sure sales will continue to increase at a pace." Backed by Kia's seven-year warranty, the Rio is a great choice for motorists, having the flexibility of four engine choices, including the 1.1 CRDi. It boasts an economic fuel consumption of 88mpg on the official combined cycle.
