Two new Seat Exeo models with enhanced fuel efficiency performance have been launched, dropping the car down into road tax (VED) band C for the first time. The Spanish carmaker said the two models, which both come under the Ecomotive umbrella, offer the same efficiency statistics but different power outputs. Both the 141bhp and 118bhp versions are available in estate and saloon body styles, with the full range of trim choices, and promise up to 62.8 miles per gallon and 117g/km CO2 emissions. The move into band C - which equates to road tax of just £30 per year - was driven by various features including stop-start engine technology, an energy recovery system, Goodyear low-rolling resistance tyres and lowered suspension generating improved aerodynamics. Motorists with an eye for a possible future purchase of the new models will be interested to note the 118bhp version in its lowest 'S' spec becomes the cheapest in the Exeo range at £20,040.
