Luxury car maker Porsche has revealed it is to expand its Cayenne SUV range with the launch of the new Cayenne S Diesel early next year.
The new Cayenne S Diesel is powered by a formidable 4.2 litre V8 engine, which can develop 376bhp and 627lb.ft of torque to more than double what a basic Porsche 911 produces.
Capable of doing 0-62mph in as little as 5.7 seconds, the Cayenne S Diesel can hit a top speed of 157mph and comes with a unique energy-efficient stop-start system to limit its CO2 output to 218g/km.
The huge torque figures are matched by an equally impressive fuel consumption limit of 34mpg, which means a standard 100-litre fuel tank can go as far as 745 miles.
The Cayenne S Diesel maintains the same stylistic features as its petrol-powered sister, the Cayenne S, while a cultured tracking system comes as standard.
Porsche confirmed that the Cayenne S Diesel will not be released until early next year, with prices starting from £58,243 for a basic model.
