The latest Clio is set to become lighter, more efficient and less gas guzzling, according to Renault.
An announcement by the French manufacturer revealed the fourth generation model will be the "most advanced" to date. Compared to its predecessor, the new Clio will typically weigh 100kg less and will be kitted out with 900cc, 89bhp TCe 90 three-cylinder petrol engines.
Buyers can also opt for a four-cylinder 118bhp 1.2 turbo engine, which will run in conjunction with the firm's EDC (Efficient Dual Clutch) gearbox. For those who prefer diesel, a 1.5-litre dCi 90 version will be available once it is launched and will come with the EDC feature in the future.
Drivers can make use of the Clio's eco mode system which enables the car to burn fuel more efficiently, for example by reducing air conditioning, to help owners save at the forecourts.
The latest Clio will come with five doors for UK buyers, and also boasts an eco-performance system as well as a gear change guide so less carbon is projected into the atmosphere.
