Audi A3 Final Edition goes out in style

Audi is hoping the final incarnation of its A3 Convertible series will see the model go out in style with various one-off extras.

The carmaker is launching two special Final Edition models, the Sport Final Edition and the S line Final Edition, in which it has replaced the cloth interiors seen earlier in the range with new full-leather upholstery.

Other new features include front seat heating, rear parking sensors, automatic headlight and wiper activation, cruise control and Bluetooth mobile phone capability.

A number of features from the existing Sport model are carried over into the Sport Final Edition, such as the 17-inch alloy wheels, sports suspension and dual-zone climate control among many others.

And if that's not enough for Audi fans to be checking out the latest car finance deals in anticipation of the new motor, then they may just be tempted by the even higher levels of luxury boasted by the S line Final Edition models.

A new five-segment spoke design takes the place of the original 18-inch S line alloy wheel, while the original fabric and leather combination makes way for full Vienna leather upholstery.

Another new addition to the car's exterior is the 'xenon plus' headlights with LED daytime running lamps, while inside the new features include DVD-based satnav technology, Audi Music Interface iPod connection and a BOSE sound system.

Motorists wondering what kind of car loans they'll be looking at for the new models need wait no longer, as Audi has announced pricing details for the new Final Edition models.

The A3 Cabriolet Sport Final Edition model carries a premium of £2,340 over the standard A3 Cabriolet, which is still being produced as part of the final production run.

Meanwhile, opting for the S line Final Edition as opposed to the Sport Final Edition will cost an additional £2,435.

Audi points out both prices represent savings on buying the additional kit individually, with Cabriolet Sport Final edition buyers said to be making a £1,605 saving while buyers of the S line Final Edition will effectively save £3,640 compared to buying the equipment separately.

Buyers have a choice of five engines - a 104bhp, 158bhp or 197bhp turbocharged petrol engine and a 104bhp or 138bhp diesel unit - with fuel economy of up to 65.7mpg.

Audi announced successful results for 2012 earlier this month, which showed it achieved an 11.7% rise in premium car sales worldwide compared to the previous year.

Sales in the UK totalled a record 123,622 in 2012, marking an 8.6% year-on-year increase.

Impressive levels of growth in the North American and Asian markets were key to the company's strong performance, though, where a jump of more than 152,000 in deliveries representing the second-highest annual increase in Audi's history.
