Mercedes-Benz has presented updated versions of its E-Class coupé and cabriolet models, which now feature a revised front including a single headlight lens.
The headlamps contain anti-dazzle LED lights. There are also several flowing light elements within the headlamps that underline the E-Class's typical "twin-headlamp" look, representing just some of the updated technical aspects of these vehicles.
Other changes include new BlueDIRECT four-cylinder engines for both the coupé and cabriolet, which are also fitted with assistance systems such as Active Lane Keeping Assist.
The "intelligent drive" systems are designed to help drivers avoid accidents with pedestrians or other cars.
Mercedes-Benz also made a number of visual changes to the cars, with both now representing the company's new design idiom and featuring a range of luxurious equipment.
The revised E-Class models come with new front bumpers that give them a more pronounced V-shaped form, while large air intakes have been added to highlight the dynamism of the cars.
Their fronts have also been fitted with a sports style grille, which means the cars now have a sporty appearance while also sharing some distinctive features with Mercedes-Benz's new E-Class Saloon.
Meanwhile the rear wing is one of the few elements of both the coupé and cabriolet to have been retained, as a way of emphasising the rear-wheel drive.
However, the designers have also made a couple of changes to the rear, such as adding new tail lamps and fitting it with a wide-effect rear bumper with a chrome-look trim and "wing design" to give the cars an athletic appearance.
Dr Joachim Schmidt, member of the management board of Mercedes-Benz Cars responsible for sales and marketing, said: "It is especially pleasing that the two vehicles also incorporate the most intelligent technology ever. This makes them true dream cars."
The Mercedes E-Class coupé and four-seater cabriolet are among the most popular cars in the upper mid-class segment, offering a driving experience that combines the latest technology with luxury equipment - which is why many regard them as the highlights of the car manufacturer's E-Class range.
Mercedes-Benz has already overhauled some of its other vehicles in the E-Class range, including the saloon and estate models.
