New Mazda2 and MX-5 range launches

Mazda has launched special versions of its popular Mazda2 and MX-5 models with new features inside and out.

The 1.3-litre Mazda2 Venture Edition five-door hatchback boasts new 16-inch alloy wheels and a sporty seat trim to set it apart from its predecessors, along with a range of new technological enhancements.

Rear parking sensors, dusk-sensing lights and rain-sensing wipers are among the new features of the car, which comes in a choice of two new red and grey exterior colours.

Among the raft of features coming as standard are a sports styling kit with privacy glass, a leather steering wheel with audio controls, a TomTom navigation system with 5.8-inch touchscreen and climate control air conditioning.

The Mazda2 Venture Edition, which is available at an on-the-road price of £13,295, is described by Mazda UK's sales director Peter Allibon as offering a "unique combination of advanced technology, sports styling, a premium interior and even greater added value".

Meanwhile, motorists assessing their car finance options for the new MX-5 Venture Edition should note that model's on-the-road prices start at £18,895 for the 126ps, 1.8-litre soft-top and rise to £22,295 for the 160ps, 2.0-litre Venture Edition Roadster Coupe with powered folding roof.

The 1.8-litre Roadster Coupe sits between the two in the middle of the range.

Allibon says the MX-5 has "fun-to-drive characteristics" at its heart that are at the forefront of the three new Venture Edition versions.

The Mazda MX-5 Venture Edition is based on this year's upgraded MX-5 but with a host of additions, such as new-look 17-inch alloy wheels, heated tan leather sports seats and tan leather door inserts.

It comes in a choice of four exterior colours Brilliant Black, Copper Red Mica, Meteor Grey Mica and Stormy Blue Mica, and - like its Mazda2 stablemate - sports Venture Edition badges.

Mazda is running various car finance offers across the Venture Edition range until the end of March, with headline monthly payments starting at £212 for the Mazda2 or £286 for the MX-5.

Those who buy with a Mazda PCP can receive a deposit contribution of £219 for the Mazda2 or £1,155 for the new MX-5, the car maker announced.

The company will be hoping it can build on the considerable success both models have enjoyed over the years, with the Mazda2 its bestselling model in the UK and the MX-5 boasting the title of the world's best selling two-seater sports car.
