The Vauxhall Corsa has been named as the 'Training Car of the Year' for the fourth year in succession, with thousands of learner drivers around the UK benefitting from its light steering helping them to nail those difficult manoeuvres.
Driving instructors, road safety inspectors and other readers of adiNEWS voted the Corsa as the best car to learn in, with the latest model scooping 43.9% of the vote to retain the crown.
Paul Caddick, managing director at adiNEWS, said: "The overwhelming signal of success was just how easy the Corsa is for students to drive, individual points noted included the smooth gears and clutch, the light steering and the ease of parking."
The latest Vauxhall Corsa is the most fuel efficient model to date, while the ecoFLEX features maintain its traditional nip at 85.8mpg but also reduce CO2 emissions to 88g/km.
Consumers can get more than a hundred customised versions of this car, which is commonly regarded as one of the best buys in the mid-market range.
The award-winning Corsa includes air conditioning, CD player, remote central locking and electrically adjustable wing mirrors as standard; although a touch of class can be added in the form of the Exclusiv trim which includes wider front seats, a larger boot, steering wheel adjustment and an MP3-compatible stereo.
Driving instructors and other motorists are also attracted by a Lifetime Warranty, which covers first-time owners' up to 100,000 miles and has cemented the Corsa's position as one of Vauxhall's best-selling models.
Peter Hope, Vauxhall's marketing director, said: "The Corsa is one of Vauxhall's best-selling models and one of the reasons owners warm to it so much is because it's practical, comfortable and fun to drive."
Vauxhall is promoting several deals on its Corsa models, including a three-door Corsa SXi 1.2 VVT which is available on finance from £179 per month and comes with 0% APR.
For those hard-up motorists who have a tighter budget, the Vauxhall Corsa Active 1.0i 12v ecoFLEX three-door model can be snapped up for £149 per month on Vauxhall's flexible finance packages, which includes free car insurance.
Many driving instructors hold the Vauxhall Corsa's reliability and practicality in high regard, while students value its comfortable and nippy nature. Despite diesel prices remaining high, the 1.3L diesel Active trim is the most commonly used model by driving instructors and the car is also popular with new drivers who are tempted by attractive insurance rates.
