Slovakian company Aeromobil think they’ve cracked the Jetsons dream of a flying car. Don’t believe them? They’ve now got a date for your diary – and it’s in just 2 years’ time! Video and photos below…

The flying car is one of those products which we’ve always been promised by science fiction, but – because it’s so ridiculous – hasn’t quite happened. Other items on this list include hoverboards from Back to the Future, transporters from Star Trek and robot butlers, from.. everybody’s dreams ever.

A small Slovakian company has decided to put an end to the endless wait, and has announced new details of their Aeromobil flying car recently in a chat with Engadget at SXSW.

The first major headline from the piece is the price. It will surprise nobody that this car will cost “at least a couple hundred thousand euros” according to Juraj Vaculik, CEO of Aeromobil.

The other big takeaway from the article is that the answer to all our hopes and dreams (if you’re a millionaire) will be here in less time than you might think – Aeromobil are planning to bring their first production consumer model to the world in 2017.

Unfortunately, we can’t currently provide finance for flying cars, but if you’d like one of the normal road-based vehicles, head on over to our extensive car search to find your perfect car.

Enough about these boring words, though. Let’s take a look at the car / plane / something.
