The Mercedes A200 CDI is without a doubt a very popular car on the market, with a number of successful car finance applications being provided by us here at Creditplus over the last few weeks. With this in mind we decided to look into just why the Mercedes A200 CDI is generating so much interest, and what makes it such a great car. This month, the celebrated Mercedes A200 CDI joins the likes of the Ford Fiesta, BMW 3-Series and the Vauxhall Insignia to become the best car finance deal of this month.
Costing approximately £24,995 new, the Mercedes A200 CDI Sport is not priced unreasonably – in fact it is priced very competitively when compared with the likes of a BMW 1 series 118d M Sport Auto costing you £26,175 and an Audi A3 Sportback S Line S Tropic at £26,980.
Mercedes is one of the most highly rated car brands around according to customer satisfaction surveys, therefore the reliability aspect shouldn’t come under any scrutiny if the past is anything to go by. Mercedes have an excellent reputation for building cars with solid engines that are designed to last.
In a world where fuel consumption is fast becoming one of the primary focal points of purchasing a car, the Mercedes A200 will not disappoint! The Mercedes A200 CDI will manage 51.4mpg around town and an impressive 72.4mpg out of town – not bad for a 2.1 litre engine car.
The Mercedes A200 is without a doubt an extremely safe car, scoring five stars in the Euro NCAP crash tests. All models as standard come with an array of safety features including 7 airbags, attention assist (which monitors driver fatigue), a radar-controlled collision-prevention system, ABS, traction control, ISOFIX points for child seats and an electronic stability control. There are also a number of advanced safety features available to purchase as an optional extras.
Comfort is usually one of Mercedes strengths so it was a little disappointing to see that this particular model only scored a measly 2 out of 5 on What Cars comfort and overall ride review. The ride is firm and gets firmer with any of the higher specification models such as the AMG. The car crashes over bumps and struggles on roads that are not perfectly smooth. As for the interior, it looks great in terms of style and leg space, however the headroom in the rear seats is slightly restricted by the low roofline.
