There are just 27 days to go until the Bournemouth Wheels Festival kicks off here on the South Coast. After the huge success of the debut festival last year, the organisers are hoping to make this year’s edition even better. Creditplus will be down there once again, playing some fun games with lots of activities for big kids and little kids alike, as well as answering your questions on car finance. Find out more about what we’re doing over at our dedicated wheels page, or read on to find out more about the best car show in the south.

Motion. Power. Elegance.

The Bournemouth Wheels Festival was held for the first time in 2014. Attracting 500,000 visitors to the 3 day event, it proved to be almost as popular as the annual Bournemouth Air Festival, which takes place across the August Bank Holiday weekend.

This year will see some more fantastic vehicles and displays returning to our beautiful sandy beaches. Here are some of the highlights to look forward to at this year’s festival.

Desert Driving Arena

The Dakar Rally team will be demonstrating some of their fantastic off road racing vehicles across a purpose built course beside the sea.

Military Arena

Displays from the Royal Navy and Army will give youngsters a chance to see some incredible modern military machines in action. Last year, a mini tank course was opened for children to have a go and it is set to return this year.

Classic Vehicle Pageant

There will be hundreds of beautiful classic and vintage cars on display. You can even vote for best in show. The hard part will be choosing which of the stunningly restored and maintained classics is the best.

Monster Trucks Display and Rides

The monster trucks will be making a welcome return to the beach this year, showcasing the immense size and power of these huge beasts. Last year there was a single monster truck, this year there will be four – Slingshot, Swamp thing, Big Pete and Grim Reaper. Once again, you will be able to have a ride in these mighty machines. Get down early as there is sure to be a big queue.

Freewheel Stunts

It’s not just four wheels celebrated at the festival. There will be some fantastic displays from BMX riders and skaters, as well as some training from Team Extreme for those brave enough to take part.

Supercar Show

Normally the home of superstar music concerts and sell-out stand up comedians, the BIC will be playing host to some of the most expensive and exotic cars on the planet. Just a short walk from the beach, this show will be an ideal way to escape the sun for a few hours.

Vintage and Pre-War Cars

Take a step back through time and see some of the cars from the start of the automotive revolution. You’ll be amazed at just how much cars have changed between the early days and now.

Freestyle Motorcross

Taking to the sand will be a fantastic display from the Freestyle Motorcross (FMX) team. Last year, a stunt rider jumped over the Bournemouth pier. Lets see what they have planned this year to try and top that!

Stunt Area and Demonstration Straight

There will be a chance to see some of the fantastic cars on display in action, as drivers take to the closed off demonstration straight to let loose. Last year saw F1 Cars, Le Mans, Supercars and Moto GP let loose to the delight of onlookers.
