Car Insurance help and advice from Creditplus

Approved by the Car Finance Advisory Board

When you purchase a new or used car from Creditplus, many people also enquire as to whether we can help them find suitable car insurance. We answer some of the popular car insurance questions from our customers below.

Will my car insurance policy be affected if I take out car finance?

No, your application for car finance is completely separate to your car insurance policy. The car you decide to change to may have an impact on the cost of your car insurance policy increasing or decreasing the premium, dependant on factors such as the car's engine and safety. It's always advisable before purchasing a car to obtain a quote from your insurance company for a transfer of vehicle. Please bear in mind that some lenders will insist on the car owner insuring the vehicle with fully comprehensive insurance. If this is the case with your lender, you'll be advised by your Customer Advisor.

Do you offer drive-away car insurance if you help me to finance a car?

Yes we do offer drive-away car insurance with all of the vehicles that we supply. There'll be a single charge of £25 and all payments will need to be taken upfront as they cannot be added to the loan agreement.

For more information regarding this, please call 0800 1777 290 and speak with one of our Customer Advisors.

Do you offer any form of free insurance?

No, we don't provide any form of free insurance policies. However we can provide GAP insurance and RTI insurance at a competitive price. If you need some help to insure your new vehicle, please ask your Customer Advisor for more information.

Can I add the cost of the drive-away insurance into the finance for the car?

No, the cost of the drive-away insurance (£25) will need to be paid upfront and cannot be added into the car finance agreement for the vehicle.

How do I insure a classic car?

Insuring a classic car is slightly different to insuring that of your standard vehicle as it takes time and careful consideration when choosing the correct level of cover for your prized possession. Insuring a classic car can also be confusing because the level of cover required will depend on how you plan to use the vehicle.

It's advisable to get in contact with a specialist classic car insurance provider who'll be able to assist you further.
